This qualification reflects the role of counsellors, who work with clients on personal and psychological
issues using established counselling modalities. They use communication, micro-counselling and
interviewing skills and draw on varied counselling therapies to assist clients. At this level, the counsellor will
be working in defined and supported counselling roles in established agencies rather than in independent
practice.

As a counsellor you may perform such tasks as:

• Mediate in conflict resolution sessions
• Facilitating group sessions
• Find solutions to mental, lifestyle and emotional problems of your clients
• Work with other medical practitioners as part of a health management team

 
Total number of units = 17
 
Graduates obtaining a competent result for all 17 unit (s) of competency will achieve the nationally
recognised award, CHC51015 – Diploma of Counselling.
 

The MT Institute usually posts the qualification and the related documents in a package through AustPost Express, DHL and other express courier companies with a tracking number will be also emailed to the student.
 
No additional charges will apply on postage since The MT Institute pays the postage fees – that means the applicant should not pay any fees upon receiving the package. However, in some countries, some courier companies ask for additional payment from the recipient to pay upon receiving the package – that extra charges are not official especially since The MT Institute had paid the full postage fees before sending the package. Therefore, The MT Institute is not responsible for any unofficial or extra charges and it’s the responsibility of the recipient to check.

Graduates may advance their career to include diverse roles in Diploma of Counselling. Furthermore,
they could undertake higher qualifications:
– Bachelor degree in psychology, social work, social and behavioral science, sociology etc.

 

Upon completion

Once an applicant has been awarded with a diploma, The MT Institute will post (express mail) the original copy of the certificate along with the student number and a unique certificate identification code.
These numbers are used to authenticate and verify the certificates. This is available for any public or private organization/corporation or institution including immigration to authenticate the validity of diplomas whether for employment, higher education, study abroad and other immigration purposes by contacting the institute as well as through other protocols used between institutes and universities.

Is the course 100% online or do I need to travel?

YES, the full course is 100% online. No travel or other physical meetings required. You can learn and obtain your Diploma of Counselling from wherever you are.

 

How to enroll?

To Enroll, you need to do the followings:

3. Choose if you want to pay full amount or partial payment by clicking on « Full Amount » is to pay the course fully (one payment), or « Pay Deposit » to pay only 50% of the course’s fee and pay the remaining 50% once you reach half way of the course you’re studying to unlock the rest half of the course and get certified.
   
   NOTE: you will not get certified until you have paid the course’s fees fully and completed the course.
4. Choose your payment method. You can pay through money transfer directly to The MT Institute’s bank account, or through PayPal as well as other major Credit/Debit cards.

What is the online course duration?

The completion timeframe for this qualification is estimated twelve (12) months, and can be completed even sooner depending on the time spent on the course. Learners who are granted course credit (Credit Transfer (CT) and/or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will receive a revised duration once their credit has been processed by Student Services.

 

What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?

RPL stands for recognition of prior learning. It is the acknowledgement of a person’s skills and knowledge acquired through previous training, work or life experience. A qualification gained in this way is identical to a qualification gained from treditional studying. There is no coursework or study, you just submit the documents you have created and use in the workplace.
 
Recognition of Prior Learning RPL process takes between 2 – 3 weeks after the application has been submitted along with all the requirements.

 

The main RPL requirement:
This is a brief checklist of the terms and requirement for the Diploma of Counselling. An applicant must be at least 20 years old to be eligible to obtain this Diploma and has a minimum of two years of work experience and/or related studies.

• A detailed resume (CV): The CV must be stating the company/work name, address, of the work or institute, the years of employment or study, role and any work experiences related to the specific Diploma the applicant is applying for.
• An employment letter (employment reference letter): This letter must state the role of the employee, employment date (start – end or if still employed) as well as the full company/work name, address and contact details. An assessor may contact the employer; this will happen in case there is no sufficient or enough information stated in the employment letter. However, the assessor will advise the applicant before contacting the employer for privacy reasons.
• Any certifications or degrees previously awarded (this is optional)

Can I ask questions during the Online Course?

Yes, there’s always support from assessors assigned to assist you during the course.

 

Can I cancel my enrollement or booking and get a refund?

NO refund is offered after enrolling in this online course especially if the online course content or contents have been unlocked for the student/customer/client after enrollment.
Furthermore, when a client, costumer, attendee or student doesn’t attend, undertake or finish the purchased training or service/s purchased from The MT Institute, it’s not The MT Institute responsibility to pay a refund for the purchased unattended or uncollected training or service/s that The MT Institute provides.
The MT Institute does NOT offer any refund or pay for any cancelled service/s, product/s, training or other services purchased online through The MT Institute website, other affiliate websites or other related or unrelated websites.

 

How do I receive my certificate?

After you complete any online course your certificate will be automatically generated with your full name, course name and a unique certificate id verification number. You can also order your certificate by emailing us if you would like your certificate to be printed on a high quality embossed paper with The MT Institute stamp. Your certificate will be posted to you via an express mail with a humble charge If you choose this option (to mail you your certificate by post), otherwise, it’s totally free if we email it to you or you download it.

 

Does the certificate/diploma give access to the profession and is it recognised by the state?

YES, this diploma is recognised by the Australian state agencies and univerities. And it is internationally recognised by most countries. We have no list of those countries. You will have to verify if the country you are interested in is recognising Australian state certificates.
